Night Reflection about Looks
Random Stranger's Respond
Tonight, I had a random conversation with a stranger, who is a friend of my friend Krishna. I was jokingly flirting with the girl, asking if she was single. She responded by saying, "I don't give a damn about you, it's not like you're handsome." I joked back, saying I had millions in my bank account, but she replied that she wouldn't care even if I had all the money in the world—if I wasn't handsome.
Reflecting on this, I started to see how the mindset of young teenagers can differ from that of older people. Teens often place a high value on physical appearance. Perhaps she might came from a middle-class or wealthy family, but I bet that when she reaches 40 or older, her priorities will shift, and she’ll likely choose financial security over looks.
As history has shown us, those who focus on survival and long-term goals tend to succeed, while simply chasing pleasure or short-term enjoyment doesn't lead to lasting success. After all, having a lot of flings doesn't get you into the top 1%.
