Effective Teacher Strategies: Balancing Thesis Deadlines with Student Freedom
How Our Teacher’s Flexible Thesis Deadline Encourages Accountability
Teacher's Approach and Thesis Deadline
This morning, our teacher emphasized his strict approach to our thesis work while giving us the freedom to decide on our own timelines. The deadline for our thesis is up to us, but the formatting of the paper must adhere to his strict guidelines. His method of allowing us to choose our deadlines while maintaining rigorous standards for formatting seems sensible.
If he were to be entirely strict, it would likely be stressful and draining. However, by giving us some freedom to determine when to complete our thesis, he encourages us to be accountable for our own work. If we miss the deadline, it will be our responsibility. This approach creates a balanced disciplinary action that helps us recognize and manage our academic obligations.
This mindset could be interpreted in different ways, but for me, it feels balanced. Imposing rules creates order, and giving us freedom allows space to craft our thesis papers and programs, even when it gets tough. I want to complete everything as soon as possible, and by following his rules, the process will be smoother and less stressful for both him and us.
