Paying It Forward in Filmmaking: A Favor Returned
Supporting a Friend's Film Project After They Helped Ours

Emman, a supporting character in our film "Panimad-un," ๐ฌ approached Gerard about getting help making their anti-bullying film. ๐๏ธ Gerard, who wrote the script, ๐ and I, who screenplayed it, ๐ jumped on board. ๐พ The filming day went surprisingly smoothly, ๐ฅ even when some actors struggled to memorize lines created on the spot. หอแตหอ Thankfully, they were receptive and adapted well. โจ
Gerard, a naturally sociable person, struck up a conversation with the teachers. He explained our presence by saying we were returning the favor for Emman's past help. This resonated with me too โ directing and filming this project felt like a way to give back in a different form. Witnessing this exchange, I noticed a shift in Emman's demeanor towards us โ it became more relaxed and friendly.
It was also fascinating to observe the easy interaction between the high school students and us college students. This new generation seems to have a broader perspective on life, likely influenced by the constant connectivity through their gadgets.
Here are three reasons why you should always help someone who's helped you before:
Strengthens Relationships
Returning a favor fosters a sense of mutual respect and strengthens the bond between you.
Creates a Pay-It-Forward Mentality
Helping others inspires them to do the same, creating a ripple effect of kindness.
Personal Satisfaction
There's a unique sense of fulfillment that comes from helping those who've supported you.
So don't hesitate to help someone when they ask, especially if it's for fun and you're feeling bored. It might turn that dull time into something enjoyable. Plus, who knows? The next time you need a hand, they might be free or bored themselves and happy to return the favor.
