The Train Analogy That Changed My Perspective

A late-night conversation that flipped how I see purpose, love, and direction

There’s a truth someone shared with me recently that really hit hard:

“If you have a girl, she will probably leave you… if you don’t know where you’re going.”

At first, it sounded cold. But then he explained it using a simple yet powerful analogy — and it made perfect sense.

The Train

He said:

“You are a train. A girl steps in and asks, ‘Why aren’t you moving?’

You reply, ‘I don’t know where I’m going.’

Then another train pulls up. This train says, “I’m headed to --- wanna come along?”

And just like that, she gets on the other train.

Why?

Because that train knows where it’s going.

That’s the harsh truth:

People are drawn to direction. To clarity. To momentum.

So the lesson was clear: Know your destination.

Lessons

- Don’t wait for someone to come into your life and complete your story — write your story first.

- Set your path. Once you’re moving, others will naturally want to ride with you.

Some will get off along the way. But the one who stays — the one who aligns with your destination — she’s the right one. There is no right one actually.

Then he dropped another line that stuck:

“The question isn’t "Does this girl like me?" It’s "How can I become the kind of person the girl I want would be attracted to?".

That flipped my thinking. It’s not about chasing love — it’s about becoming someone worth loving. Position yourself. Build yourself. And let people come to you — not by begging, but by being magnetic.

Other Stuffs

We even talked about social media. He encouraged me to go back to making videos and content — not to impress, but to express. Let my interests shine. Let videos market me. Be visible. Not to hunt for girls, but to be in the right ecosystem — a bigger pool of people who vibe with what I love.

He said something else that felt like a punch in the gut — in a good way:

+ “It’s not that you don’t know your purpose. You just haven’t decided yet.”

That made me pause. I do love coding. I love making videos. But maybe I’ve been standing at the station too long — waiting for the ‘perfect’ direction instead of choosing one and going all in.

Ken — that’s his name — shared a ton of insights. And what’s crazy is, he’s not just talking. He’s already living it. He’s got plans, experience, and clarity. All I have to do is decide, commit, and move. Just like what he is doing.
