Hi, I'm Elly Mar an aspiring filmmaker.
Today, I set my long-term goal to pursue a career in filmmaking. Inspired by my teacher's discussion on Atomic Habits, I realize that appreciating small steps can lead to big results over time. Even though I was familiar with this idea, today I made it official.
I’m now fully committed to working toward a future in the film industry.
The filmmaking world is competitive, but I believe what makes us unique is the personal touch we bring to our craft. As director Martin Scorsese once said, "What is personal is creative." That idea resonates with me deeply. I have a message to share with the world, and film is my way to tell that story. I’ve proven to myself that I’m capable, and now it's time to push even harder to achieve bigger things.
I'm currently enrolled at Iloilo Science and Technology University, pursuing a BS in Computer Science. While filmmaking may seem different from programming, both challenge my creativity. However, the film world feels natural to me, like I’m in control, creating something from nothing.
I've directed and won two consecutive short film competitions at school, and the experience has only deepened my passion. Filmmaking excites me like nothing else, and I’m eager to explore more. The process has captured my heart, and I’m ready for whatever comes next.
